Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Huntington.

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Huntington Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

I was very pleased with the Beginners Class. I was able to learn about my camera and how to use the different settings. The instructor did a great job and took time to answer all our questions.

    Title or Location: Morning Glory
It was a dark morning but the chaos that surrounded me and haunted my mind that morning raged even darker. I spent all morning talking to God and felt as if I was getting nowhere. I get in my car to drive to work and as I approach the mid point of the hollow in which I live, the area around me is illuminated by light. Pure and radiant. The light breaking through the dark shadows of the trees felt as if it was also breaking through the darkness in my mind and heart. It was as if the light

The sun had just set over the hills in Ohio, looking across the Ohio River from my home in Lesage, the crescent moon was just above a big oak tree and the contracts from the passing jets, made for an amazing photograph. It was dark enough that the houses and street lights across the river were brightly shinning, but light enough to capture the beauty of the trees on the Ohio hillsides.

The rose in the photo was started from a clipping we took from Ritter Park Rose Garden, during their rose clipping giveaway. The photo is of a single branch filled with a multitude of booms. It's one of my favorite rose bushes. It blooms heavily from spring till frost. This was late October 2024.

I like to catch the golden hour at sunrise. My goal that morning was to photograph the sunrise, without photographing the sunrise. The sparkling ripples caught my eye.

Title or Location: Common Tern with a just caught fish to feed its chicks. C. Sam. Smith Park
I was looking for Whimbrels, or other migratory shore birds when I spotted this common tern flying around. At some point it dove and caught a fish. I instinctively aimed my camera and took a few pictures before flying away.

Steam was really enshrouding the main pool of Grand Prismatic, so I looked for other compelling ways to capture images. This image features some of the sinter terraces and cooler water thermophiles thriving around the central pool perimeter.
